Don Jackson

Don Jackson has been writing sports and travel columns for more than 25 years and has traveled to nearly 80 countries. He is currently Sports and Leisure Travel Editor of Lavish Living Magazine and Los Gatos Magazine and Travel Editor of San Joaquin Magazine. He has been published in Palm Springs Magazine, Family Circle, Silicon Valley Scene, Brehm and Meredith Newspaper Groups and numerous other regional and national media outlets. He also served as an advisor to Zagat Travel Guides for seven years; co-authored the first guidebook to the Palm Springs area; and worked as a travel, dining and entertainment radio correspondent for The Good Life Report on KABC talk radio (Los Angeles) for 17 years and as Travel Editor for Valley Lifestyles Magazine(Phoenix, Az area) for 3 years. Don served as IFWTWA president for four years in the 80's, on its Board of Directors for 10 years and as an Advisor to the Board for nearly another 10 years. He is credited with the organization's major growth starting in the early 80's as IFWTWA's headquarters were transitioning from Paris, France to California. Don was also responsible, along with his wife Ann, for introducing and co-editing IFWTWA's first monthly newsletter and spearheading the publication of the IFWTWA armchair travel book, Windows to the World, a major fundraising tool for the organization. Don is appreciative and feels honored to have the title of IFWTWA's President Emeritus and is the only member given this Emeritus designation to date. He is also a member of the Society of American Travel Writers, International Travel Writers Alliance, Bay Area Travel Writers and Southern California Restaurant Writers. He and Ann(also a credentialed travel writer/photographer) continue to jointly write monthly travel features and reside in Silicon Valley, California.
