Matthew Delaney

Matthew's journey into the world of wine world began in 2007 when he was hired to be the Beverage Controller at the San Francisco Marriott. This somewhat famous position in the industry placed him in charge of the largest alcohol budget in Northern California, home to the famous Sonoma and Napa wine country. Matthew’s wine education continued while working as the Concierge for many major hotels in San Francisco. The City By The Bay is a gateway to the most well-known wine country in the United States, and being fluent in it’s offerings was a requirement as well as a passion. Matthew had the pleasure of educating thousands of hotel guests with recommendations on where to go in wine country during his career as Concierge and his voice is still heard in Northern California through his San Francisco tourist map, which circulates hundreds of thousands of copies in each year. As Writer and Content Director at The Wine’dUp, Matthew is now able to share his passion for wine with readers all over the globe.
